Maggie Palooza 2009

Have you ever had something or someone so important to you that you would do just about anything for it/them? Would you jump through burning hoops of blazing fire or swim a million miles down under dirty scary waters to search for a lost toy? Would you walk five thousand miles or five hundred more just to see them for a few minutes? Or how about something a little more reasonable as lets say...sleep in any position or anywhere on your bed with you and stay in an uncomfortable position just to let them sleep soundly? Well kids, Nena Munson sure would and "For whom or what?" you say? Maggie Marie Munson, that's who and we threw her a fabulous birthday party!

Maggie, my beloved pooch, is very important to my little life. For one, she is MY biggest fan! Tell me one person who is going to love you more than anything else still right after you scold them for having an accident on the floor or chewing on your make-up or hair brush because they think it is some sort of toy? Not a one I say! Second thing, she is a great listener and never talks back. The way her little head tilts slightly to the side as if she honestly understands any of the words rolling off my tongue is one of the cutest darn things she does. Third, she is always so loyal. One time, while hiking in Arkansas with quite a few people, we found a nice cool waterfall. Maggie, along with everyone else who was hiking, were extremely hot and in desperate need of cooling off. I knew Maggie wouldn't get in the water on her own so I proceeded to toss little Maggie into the water off the water fall (keep in mind it was only about five feet tall). As she surfaced from the short plunge there were two guys wadding in the pool of water to catch her but instead of swimming to them she saw me at the top of the water fall and starting swimming toward me. Now tell me that's not loyal!

On August 17th 2007, Maggie was born. Last year for her one year birthday I was in Orlando on a business trip (rough I know) and couldn't help her celebrate so for her two year old birthday this year we had a full on blow out for her, "Maggie Palooza". Heck, Chris even made t-shirts for all our guests and we spent a night making "Maggie Palooza" buttons. There is no doubt that our love runs deep for this little dog after seeing what all we did for her huge birthday party. We cooked hot dogs, had an assortment of "Dog Beer", bought her her very own Birthday Cake (which read "Yappy Barkday"), gave out t-shirts and buttons, and watched her play with all her new toys. Maggie wore a playful little ruffled pink dress with a pink flower made of shredded pink fabric and an adorable pink crown with feathers and pom poms attached. She was for sure a Birthday Princess. Not only did little miss Maggie enjoy herself and all the attention she got (not to mention all the faces she got to lick) but I am pretty sure all of her guests enjoyed themselves too.
