A little Overdue....

Let me first say I am deeply sorry for the lack of attention to my blog (because I have sooo many fans and all). I have been very very busy and have not had much time. With things slowing down just a tad in my life I figured it was time to go back to explaining my glamorous life : )

In the past three months we have....

Sold our old house
Nena turned 25 AHHHHHHHH
Went on an amazing cruise to Mexico (no engagement there though...I know you are just as bummed as I was)
Bought a new puppy
Closed on our new house
Finished our kitchen (except for painting the walls)

That is our past few months in a nut shell! : )

Pictures will be coming soon!

Maggie Palooza 2009

Have you ever had something or someone so important to you that you would do just about anything for it/them? Would you jump through burning hoops of blazing fire or swim a million miles down under dirty scary waters to search for a lost toy? Would you walk five thousand miles or five hundred more just to see them for a few minutes? Or how about something a little more reasonable as lets say...sleep in any position or anywhere on your bed with you and stay in an uncomfortable position just to let them sleep soundly? Well kids, Nena Munson sure would and "For whom or what?" you say? Maggie Marie Munson, that's who and we threw her a fabulous birthday party!

Maggie, my beloved pooch, is very important to my little life. For one, she is MY biggest fan! Tell me one person who is going to love you more than anything else still right after you scold them for having an accident on the floor or chewing on your make-up or hair brush because they think it is some sort of toy? Not a one I say! Second thing, she is a great listener and never talks back. The way her little head tilts slightly to the side as if she honestly understands any of the words rolling off my tongue is one of the cutest darn things she does. Third, she is always so loyal. One time, while hiking in Arkansas with quite a few people, we found a nice cool waterfall. Maggie, along with everyone else who was hiking, were extremely hot and in desperate need of cooling off. I knew Maggie wouldn't get in the water on her own so I proceeded to toss little Maggie into the water off the water fall (keep in mind it was only about five feet tall). As she surfaced from the short plunge there were two guys wadding in the pool of water to catch her but instead of swimming to them she saw me at the top of the water fall and starting swimming toward me. Now tell me that's not loyal!

On August 17th 2007, Maggie was born. Last year for her one year birthday I was in Orlando on a business trip (rough I know) and couldn't help her celebrate so for her two year old birthday this year we had a full on blow out for her, "Maggie Palooza". Heck, Chris even made t-shirts for all our guests and we spent a night making "Maggie Palooza" buttons. There is no doubt that our love runs deep for this little dog after seeing what all we did for her huge birthday party. We cooked hot dogs, had an assortment of "Dog Beer", bought her her very own Birthday Cake (which read "Yappy Barkday"), gave out t-shirts and buttons, and watched her play with all her new toys. Maggie wore a playful little ruffled pink dress with a pink flower made of shredded pink fabric and an adorable pink crown with feathers and pom poms attached. She was for sure a Birthday Princess. Not only did little miss Maggie enjoy herself and all the attention she got (not to mention all the faces she got to lick) but I am pretty sure all of her guests enjoyed themselves too.

Will work for Beer

So this week/ weekend was actually very wonderful. My dad, who currently lives in Dallas, came to stay with me all last week! Can you believe that? I had not seen him for about a year so I was pretty excited! I was a little worried that my dad and Chris would not have much time to hang out and get to know one another because Chris had to go out of two for four days last week. For the most part it all worked out perfect because it gave me and my dad a chance to hang out just the two of us. We went to a Billiard competition in Norman, OK all day on Thursday. He is a billiard instructor and LOVES to watch a game of pool played by anyone probably. It was a women's competition so I am sure that was better for him ; ). We had good food and I got to take a few pictures.

Saturday night we went to Tulsa's "Wild Brew" event. It's all for the birds baby! Wild Brew is a huge beer tasting for anyone (21 and over) to pay $50 a ticket and drink and eat themselves silly. Chris is on the committee so of course he got in for free but he also managed to get one of our friends, my dad and myself in to volunteer and get in free as well! YAY FREE BEER AND FOOD! We had a blast. We ended up working the Quick Trip table and serving their fabulous sandwiches! The funny thing was we don't work for them whatsoever and my dad was really trying to "sell" the items. He was getting so into it I just kept laughing at it. I guess I should have tried harder as well because I was in there for free but he was doing enough work to cover five people. We ate until we were stuffed, the guys drank until they were acting weird and Chris even danced with me. Hard to believe he danced but he is actually not too bad. He does a mean "truck driver", ask him to show you one day.

After the event was over I brought my dad home and Chris and I went to an after party. It was lame to say the least but we didn't want to waste the rest of the night so we went to the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. It was a blast! In all Chris lost $40 and I won $12.77! I bought lunch for us all to make up for his loss the next day ; ).

Sunday we brought my dad to the airport. I tried my hardest to get him to go to Mass with us but he refused saying the church would probably crumble to the ground if he stepped in. Glad it didn't but I hardly think it would have, Dad! We rode our bikes, went home and took a long nap, woke up and took Maggie for a walk. All in all I think we had a great weekend!

Finders Keepers

So...this is my first EVER attempt at writing and keeping up with a Blog. Wish me luck. I guess for years I have always thought "Why in the world would anyone want to read about my life because it isn't that glamorous?". Well for once I feel my life is worth something and fantastic so gosh darn it I am going to write about it!

This past weekend I went to my very first D-Fest in Tulsa. If you were to ask me if the $55 ticket was worth the two day adventure I would probably say "yes" if it had been a normal weekend. I had to work both days until 5 P.M. so I could not enjoy the daytime scene but still had a blast for the most part both nights. I would advise though that you might as well walk right by all the concerts and listen to them for free.

We did however take hundreds of pictures trying to beat the tons of people we saw walking around downtown to win the "D-Fest Photo Contest". There were 10 categories so it was actually a little exciting to me to try and beat my boyfriend again with creativity and spur of the moment ideas. You see, we are such a competitive little couple sometimes it makes things interesting.

The afternoon of the second day Chris found out some horrible news about a family member and seemed to be a little down in the dumbs even though he claimed to be fine. I know my boyfriend a little better than that and struggled to find a way to soothe his hurt feelings. As the night went on little things started happening that made me feel even worse for Chris, one bad thing after another. I started to adore him even more as I watched him though. He is a very strong person and never lets his hurt feelings or frustrations get in the way of others. When we left the Cake concert and walked to the parking lot our car was nowhere to be found. We walked up and down and up and down the aisles trying to find his missing Honda Civic and yet it was not there. We looked at each other and both upset because it was 1:30 in the morning and we had no ride home. I started texting friends to try and get a ride. The first text I sent there was no answer. The second text I sent no answer but rather a frantic call 7 minutes later. As I tried to figure out what the cross streets were around us Chris was sitting on a curb staring out into the street and calling the cops to report a stolen car. As soon as I got off the phone I ran to Chris' side just waiting for him to break down (Lord knows I would have been if I had gone through everything he had to go through that day). He sat thee very calmly and let me hug him for several minutes. The main thing Chris Bouldin was concerned about was not his stolen car but the things inside his stolen car. Chris, like myself, is a photographer (a fabulous one at that) and his camera and every little part that belongs to it, pricing out around $4000, was inside that little missing car. We stood up and he hugged me even more. We walked around for a little bit and in that one hour that we thought the car was stolen along with my purse, his $4000 camera, my $700 camera and our tripods and ALL our camping gear we thought was gone for good! Needless to say I asked Chris I think three times if it was the correct parking lot and on the third time he figured out that it was in fact NOT the right one. We walked right over to our car after waiting on the cops for an hour. He kissed his car we got in. I just about cried I was so happy/ angry about the situation. I think it taught me a little about how important the people in your life are and not so much the things in our life ; )
